I suppose this blog stuff is suppose to be for the young and hip but here I am anyway. The last post here (Sept. 04) was an angry one. Not much has really changed. I worked to get Bush defeated all last summer and fall but the misinformation and vote thievery won out and I'm still mad as hell. Also embarrassed and so miserably ashamed. This old Montana woman was never too happy about the way my fellow countrymen and women went around the world acting as if they and the USA were Goddess' gift to the planet but now I find myself using words like 'ashamed' to describe my feelings.
I think a lot about my next life. Frida Kalho once said she did not want to return to this planet (don't have her exact quote to give you) and I am thinking the same thing. Or maybe I will be able to return in animal form -- other than the human animal I mean. I've kind of given up on the human animal. Individually, I can find humanity in people but as a whole... people suck!
Humanity is a disaster.
OK, this puckery lemonade of a post needs some sugar.
It must be said that I have family and friends that I love and adore and there are people on this planet whom I admire and look to for inspiration. In that vein I would like to mention a show on PBS that I have caught a couple times lately. It's called "The New Heroes" and is hosted by Robert Redford. I watch it because it helps battle the feelings of hopelessness. He profiles ordinary people around the world who are doing good work for people, critters and the planet.
And then there is my new grandson, Lincoln is his name. Some have commented that his name is a lot to live up to but I think it's perfect. He's named after my father-- talk about an ordinary man who is inspirational. I believe Lincoln is going to be special. I suppose that's the grandmother in me talking but I actually got the idea from reading the June horoscope for Gemini at Astrologyzone.com. As soon as I can I will get his personal horoscope done just for the fun of it.
I have to say the boy is calm as can be. Doesn't do much crying and seems to be able to roll with the punches. He's already got a headstart on his parents and me. Good boy, Linc... don't let them get you down!
Enough for now except to say 'Hi' to my friend Debbie over there in Blegium. If you see this please get in touch with me. I've had to change my email and computer again. Makes it kind of hard to stay connected but you are so special to me...
